A tour of Steamboat Springs Craft Breweries

If you’re a beer drinker, one of the best things about traveling to Colorado is the number of excellent craft breweries located all throughout the state! Steamboat Springs is no exception! We have several renowned breweries here in Steamboat that comprise a lovely afternoon tour with a group of friends. Ride the route by bicycle on The Core Trail and see our historic downtown and creative west side district. Guests at Bella Vista Estate who opt to take advantage of our Sip, Soak, Sleep package can enjoy the Steamboat Brewery Tour by way of Bella Vista’s shuttle bus! The Sip, Soak, Stay package is available for groups of 10 during the off-season. Enjoy a shorter stay requirement, discounted rate, tickets to the hot springs, and a shuttled brewery tour for your group retreats in Colorado.

Storm Peak Brewery

Beer lovers with a sophisticated palate will want to start their Steamboat Brewery Tour at Storm Peak! This craft microbrewery keeps 15+ original beers on tap, mostly IPAs, and a smattering of seasonal brews. In the summertime, visitors can enjoy large covered tables on the patio, and in the winter, sit around the cozy fire pit. Storm Peak Brewery is named after the Storm Peak Lift here at Steamboat Resort. Many of their beers bear the names of other historic Steamboat icons! On the weekends, there is occasional live music and if you’re hungry, you can order pizza from the shop next door!

Butcherknife Brewery

While you’re on the west side of town, head less than half a mile down Elk River Road to Butcherknife Brewery. You don’t want to miss the seasonal rotating tap and 8+ original beers available on tap or in cans and growlers. Butcherknife often hosts food trucks in their parking lot on weekends. You can also find works from local artists hanging on the walls throughout the taproom. Take note of the gorgeous wooden counters made with locally reclaimed beetle-kill pine.

Mahogany Ridge Brewery

You wouldn’t think it from the outside, but this downtown restaurant actually brews their own craft beverages inside their location at 5th and Lincoln. (If you’re biking the tour, head back downtown from the west side!) Mahogany Ridge Brewery offers a handful of original beers and a craft-brewed root beer. Take advantage of Happy Hour prices on food and beverages in the early afternoon or late evening. (Pork Belly and Peach Spinach Salad? Heck yes!)

Mountain Tap Brewery

Finish out your Steamboat brewery tour at Mountain Tap Brewery downtown! Their large, modern taproom overlooks the Yampa River. Pack all of your friends and family around the community-style tables and enjoy from a wide selection of in-house microbrews. Satiate those end of the night munchies with garlic knots and pizza from the kitchen. Go on “Token Tuesday” to donate a portion of your sale to a local charitable organization.

At the end of your tour, guests at Bella Vista Estate can climb aboard the Bella Vista shuttle. Head back to your own private oasis to relax in the hot tub!
