Has anyone else been wondering how it’s staying light until almost 8:30pm and it’s only May 3rd?!? It is such a welcomed change after the darkness of winter. Living in the mountains it almost feels like crawling out of a hole with the thaw of the mountains. I feel alive again! This is true in so many more ways than just one. We are coming into our second peak season as the new owners of the Bella Vista and it’s not until now that I’m seeing the light. When we took over the Estate I thought it was all going to be butterflies and rainbows as this was the answer to many years of prayers and perseverance. What I didn’t realize was how hard the transition was going to be. From boilers going out, to pests trying to get in; we had bitten off more than we had room for in our mouths! And then on top of that I had guilt about feeling the way I was when Bella Vista is such a blessing and gift. It took some time of stepping away, taking many deep breaths, rallying a support team, and then stepping into the chaos with grace and forgiveness, hand in hand with God.
“We are fragile creatures, and it is from this weakness, not despite it, that we discover the possibility of true joy.”
― Desmond Tutu,
