Our Story

The Stewards

Eric and Abby

Welcome home to the Bella Vista! We are so excited to have the opportunity to host you and share the beauty of the Bella Vista with you.  Our journey began as students at Colorado State University where we met and fell in love. 10 years later we married, started a family, and became the humble stewards of Bella Vista!

Since taking over the Estate in 2016, the Bella Vista has completely transformed to what it deserves to be; a true sanctuary that is beautiful both inside and out.  It has been a labor of love and we want nothing more than for you to come and connect with those who are closest to you. When we are not dreaming of what the future holds for the Estate, we love hiking, biking, skiing, camping and spending time with our two young children.  We hope that you will come some day and enjoy this beautiful slice of heaven that we call home!

Estate Manager

I recently moved to Steamboat Springs from Aspen after getting engaged to my soon to be husband, Jeff. I grew up in the Roaring Fork Valley and am a Colorado native.

Most recently, I was overseeing the operations of a large private estate on Aspen Mountain. Prior to that I was in hospitality/residential sales and real estate sales in the Aspen Valley, corporate retreat and adventure travel in Taos, New Mexico, and wine education in Napa and Sonoma Valleys.

I’m fortunate to be able to spend my free time skiing, snowboarding, dirt biking and exploring the mountains I have grown up in! These have been passions of mine from a very young age.

I was drawn to this role for many reasons… hospitality, customer service, sales and building relationships with clients runs deep in my blood. This role will combine all of my past experience and give me the opportunity to create lifelong memories for all of our future guests. I also love the mission of Bella Vista Estate to bring people together for quality time and connection as well as their goal of involvement and giving back to the community.

Property Manager

I have lived in many beautiful places in my life such as Homer Alaska, Costa Rica, Cozumel Mexico, on a sail boat, and more, but living and working at Bella Vista has absolutely topped my list and I couldn’t feel more grateful to be here. I have always been the go-to guy for all things that needed to be repaired and I have made my living with these skills for the past 20 years.

The hospitality side of this job is my favorite though as I love meeting and working with new people. I get excited every time we check in new guests and I can’t wait to meet you as well! I love seeing the look on people’s faces when they see Bella Vista for the first time as they usually just walk around in awe.

The personal touches that Abby and Eric have done to this property are heartfelt and inspiring. You can just tell from the moment you walk into any of the dwellings here that they want you to feel special and at home. I am looking forward to meeting each of you and providing you with excellent service!

Venue Manager

When I was offered the opportunity to be the Venue Manager at Bella Vista, I couldn’t help but jump at the chance. This property is so special that earning a living while soaking in the sweeping landscape views of Steamboat Springs seems almost like a crime.

I grew up in Michigan and the idea of one day living in the mountains somehow got stuck in my soul. So after high school I headed for the University of Colorado and never really looked back. Upon graduation, I moved to Steamboat “for one season” but managed to string it out for 24 years and counting.

I’m married with two kids, all of whom keep me young at heart. When I’m not working with weddings and special events at Bella Vista, you’ll most likely find me riding my bike. No matter if I’m on skinny tires or a big, fat mountain bike, I love everything on two wheels!
